How to read my car tyre size?

  • Tyre Width

    145 indicates the section width of a tyre in millimetres.

  • Aspect Ratio Or Profile

    80 indicates Aspect Ratio of tyre. This number indicates sidewall height of the tyre as a percentage of tyre width. Here, sidewall height of the tyre is 80% of the width.

  • Tyre Construction

    R indicates that the tyre has radial ply construction. Almost all car tyres come with radial ply construction.

  • Rim

    12 indicates the Nominal Rim Diameter Code

  • Load Index

    74 indicates Maximum Load Capacity of the tyre. Please refer to the Load Index table.

  • Speed Symbol

    T is the Speed Symbol and it indicates at the maximum speed for the tyre at full load. Please refer to the Speed Symbol table.
